AI tokens are units used to measure AI model usage. Roughly:
- 1 token ≈ 4 characters of text
- 100 tokens ≈ 75 words
- 1,000 tokens ≈ 750 words
Example Usage:

- Complex analysis: ~2,000-5,000 tokens
- Document processing (per page): ~500-1,500 tokens
Can I bring my own AI keys (BYOK)?
Yes! All plans support BYOK:
- Use your own OpenAI API key
- Use your own DeepSeek API key
- Use your own Anthropic API key
- Use local models with Ollama (free)
When using BYOK, you pay your AI provider directly and our token limits don't apply.
What happens if I exceed my limits?
Documents: You'll be prompted to upgrade or wait until next month
Storage: You'll need to delete old documents or upgrade
AI Tokens: Processing will pause until:
- Next billing cycle
- You upgrade your plan
- You add your own API key (BYOK)
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes! You can change plans at any time:
- Upgrade: Takes effect immediately, prorated billing
- Downgrade: Takes effect at next billing cycle
- Cancel: No charges after current period ends
