Pro and Team have a BYOK price: your chats run on your own provider keys instead of the built-in Scrapalot AI model, so the plan costs half. With BYOK active, the Scrapalot AI model is hidden from the chat model picker and you pick one of your own models (configured under Settings → AI Providers). Frequently Asked Questions
What are AI tokens?
AI tokens are units used to measure AI model usage. Roughly:
- 1 token ≈ 4 characters of text
- 100 tokens ≈ 75 words
- 1,000 tokens ≈ 750 words
Token limits reset monthly regardless of your billing cycle — an annual Pro subscription gets 5M tokens every month, not 60M at once. On Team, the owner and every invited teammate draw on one shared pool.
Can I bring my own AI keys (BYOK)?
Yes. Every plan can add its own provider keys (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, OpenRouter, DeepSeek and others) under Settings → AI Providers, or local models such as Ollama.
On Pro and Team you can also subscribe at the BYOK price (50% off). Your chats then run on your own keys and you pay your AI provider directly; system agents (deep research planning, titles) stay included and still count against the plan's token limit.
What happens if I exceed my limits?
Documents / storage: New uploads are refused until you delete documents or upgrade.
AI tokens: You are notified as you approach the limit. You can upgrade for a higher limit, wait for the monthly reset, or switch to your own keys.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes. You can change plans at any time; changes take effect immediately and billing is prorated.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
Yes. Pro and Team include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial is once per account.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit cards and PayPal. Enterprise customers can also pay by bank transfer.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
What about data privacy?
- Your documents are used to answer your questions, not to train models
- Data is encrypted in transit
- You can export your documents and notes at any time

Self-Host vs Hosted Comparison
